Malala Yousafzai: This is the school uniform the Pakistan girl wore the day the Taliban shot at her

On October 9, 2012, a Taliban faction shot at a 14-year-old girl as she was going to school defying a diktat against girls' education in Swat Valley in Pakistan.

The bullet hit the head of Malala Yousafzai but she somehow survived after treatment in a hospital in the UK and in the next two years she become a global symbol of resistance against fundamentalist forces and an icon of girl's education.

On October 10, 2014, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize - becoming the youngest Nobel laureate in the world. The other winner was Kailash Satyarthi - a child rights activist from India.

Now, as Malala is set to receive the Nobel medal in Oslo City Hall on December 10, her bloodied blue and white school uniform she wore when she was shot has been unwrapped for an exhibition.

The grim garments will be shown at the Nobel Peace Centre in the Norway capital and will be part of an exhibition to honour present and past Nobel Peace Prize laureates.
