- Swachch Bharat Abhiyan
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign) that aims to clean up the country in the next five years.
- Modi nominated nine people to carry forward the campaign (Goa Governor, Baba Ramdev, Sashi Tharoor, Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Tendulkar, Anil Ambani and Tarak Mehta).
- Government announces 20 lakh rupees for each village Panchayat for the clean India mission.
